Job Summary

As an Animal Health Technician for our Toxicology team at our Laval site, you will be responsible for the welfare of all our research animals. Your success will ensure the health of our animals, as well as the integrity of our pre-clinical studies.

In this role, the main responsibilities will include:

Collecting biological samples (blood, urine, etc.);

Data collection (weight gain, food consumption, clinical signs, etc.);
Injections (subcutaneous, intramuscular, etc.);
Animal handling;
Cleaning of animal rooms.

Key Requirements

The minimum qualifications required for this position are:

College diploma in Animal Health – New graduates are welcome, no work experience required!;

College diploma in Bioecology, Biology, Biotechnology, or any other related discipline with experience in administering injections and/or drawing blood from animals;
Ability to perform physical work (lifting up to 20 kg, walking, standing, bending, etc.);
Good observation skills;

Problem-solving skills.

Please note that upon hiring, you will be required to undergo an annual tuberculosis test at the company’s expense.

Role-Specific Information:

Transportation: Free parking. Near Montmorency metro station. Electric vehicle charging station;

Salary: Starting at $23.50/hr. Opportunity to start at a higher level with a higher salary with specific research experience;

Bonuses: Weekend ($2.75), overtime (time and a half), holidays (double time);
Annual performance-based bonus;
Schedule: Flexible hours, the candidate must be available days, evenings, and weekends. Depending on the company’s needs, you may be required to work overtime, holidays, and night shifts;
Permanent position upon hiring, full-time at 37.5 hours per week.
