Job Title: Generator Mechanic

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

• Carry out troubleshooting to identify mechanical and electrical-related issues on the generators.
• Operate generator sets and supply power to the plant.
• Record and compile operational data, completing and maintaining forms, logs, and reports.
• Ensure all equipment is working in good condition and follow safety standard operating procedures.
• Ensure that all generator sets are in good running condition.
• Keep the Generator Room clean to avoid any hazards.
• Check level of diesel used in operation.
• Performs predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance on engine-driven generating units and related mechanical equipment
• Operates and maintains engine-driven generating units
• Performs testing, troubleshooting, and diagnosing of diesel engines
• Servicing, repairing, and overhauling diesel generators.
• Checking equipment for defects.
• Installing, identifying critical spare items, and replacing generator parts and attachments according to specifications.
• Carrying out maintenance and repairs on all mechanical equipment, including operations and maintenance of pumps, fuel system, making sure machineries functions properly

Education and Qualifications

• At least OND Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
• Trade Test and certification as a Mechanic

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 yrs. hands-on experience as a generator mechanic.
