The Katsina State Hospitals Services Management Board
The Katsina State Hospitals Services Management Board was first established by Kaduna State Government via edict No. 7 of 1978. The same edict was modified and adapted under CAP 63 of the laws of Katsina State of Nigeria. In 1993, the Board was merged with the State Ministry of Health through an Executive order. However, it was reactivated on 30th March, 1998 operate autonomously, with a Governing Board under the supervision of the Ministry of Health. The Board has under control all staff at the Headquarters, State Medical store, Government House Clinic, Psychiatric Hospital as well as all those working at the 18 General Hospital in the Katsina, Daura, Funtua, Malumdfashi, Mani, Kankia, Dutsinma, Batsari, Baure, Babbaruga, Rimi, Ingawa, Musawa, Kankara and Danmusa.

Job Description
The Accountant is responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate accounting records, and preparing financial statements for KTHSMB facilities.
The role involves budgeting, auditing, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations and public sector accounting standards.
The officer will support financial planning, monitor expenditures, and ensure transparency and accountability in all financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate financial records and general ledger entries
Prepare financial statements and periodic reports
Monitor budgets and track expenditures
Process invoices, payments, and financial transactions
Conduct internal financial reviews and reconciliations
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
Assist in audit processes and respond to audit queries
Manage payroll processing and financial disbursements
Maintain records of assets, liabilities, and cash flow
Support financial planning and budget preparation processes.
Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
NYSC Discharged/Exemption Certificate
Professional certification (ICAN or equivalent added advantage)
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Relevant experience.
