The Katsina State Hospitals Services Management Board
The Katsina State Hospitals Services Management Board was first established by Kaduna State Government via edict No. 7 of 1978. The same edict was modified and adapted under CAP 63 of the laws of Katsina State of Nigeria. In 1993, the Board was merged with the State Ministry of Health through an Executive order. However, it was reactivated on 30th March, 1998 operate autonomously, with a Governing Board under the supervision of the Ministry of Health. The Board has under control all staff at the Headquarters, State Medical store, Government House Clinic, Psychiatric Hospital as well as all those working at the 18 General Hospital in the Katsina, Daura, Funtua, Malumdfashi, Mani, Kankia, Dutsinma, Batsari, Baure, Babbaruga, Rimi, Ingawa, Musawa, Kankara and Danmusa.

Job Title: Midwife (Officer)

Job Description
The Midwife Officer II is responsible for delivering comprehensive maternal and neonatal healthcare services within KTHSMB facilities.
The role involves antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care, assisting in safe deliveries, monitoring maternal and fetal health, and providing family planning and reproductive health services.
The officer will ensure adherence to clinical protocols, infection prevention standards, and ethical practices while working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to improve maternal and child health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Provide antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care to patients
Assist and manage normal deliveries safely
Monitor maternal and fetal conditions during pregnancy and labour
Provide immediate care to newborns after delivery
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
Educate mothers on maternal, neonatal, and reproductive health
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
Ensure adherence to infection prevention and control protocols
Identify and refer high-risk cases appropriately
Support family planning and reproductive health services.
Requirements & Qualifications
Registered Midwife (RM) qualification
Valid practicing license
Strong maternal and neonatal care skills
Good communication and patient care abilities
Relevant experience.
